Girls in PIAA Tournament

   The PIAA Tournament got underway with Dallastown hosting Central Bucks East, Friday, March 8 and the Wildcats advanced to the second round with a 43-36 victory. Praise Matthews led the way in an outstanding team effort.

   The ladies' incredible season came to an end in the PIAA quarterfinals against District 11 champ Parkland, 35-31, March 12 at Governor Mifflin.

     We are so proud of our group after this historic campaign.

District III Championship Dreams just short

     The Giant Center can be a tough place to play as the Wildcats found out in the February 29 District III 6A Championship game. 

     Baskets were hard to come by and Central Dauphin proved to be a formidable foe in a 39-29 defeat.

     With shots not falling - a common occurrence at the vast Giant Center - rebounds were a premium and CD was solid off the glass in the opening half.

     Finally, Dallastown got some offense going in the fourth quarter, but the deficit proved to be insurmountable. 

     The girls had the task of going to Lebanon to face the No. 1 ranked Cedars in the tournament semifinal on Monday (Feb 26). 

     Despite being down heading into the fourth quarter, the Wildcats came back and paved their way to the Giant Center with a 40-34 win.

     After holding Lebanon in check through three quarters, the Wildcats still trailed 29-25 heading into the final frame. But he ladies rallied, scoring 15 points in the fourth, six from Praise Matthews and five from Alonna Dowell.

     Dowell led all scorers with 16 and Matthews added 15.

      Still, second in the district and a trip to the PIAA state tournament gives Wildcat Nation plenty to be proud of.

          Boys Fall in opening round of district play

     The boys opened the District III 6A tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at Central Dauphin, but unfortunately a solid season came to an end with a 65-45 defeat. 

     

Girls repeat as YAIAA Champions

     It certainly didn't come easy, but typically nothing worthwhile does. The Wildcats built a 14-point lead only to see York Suburban rally and take a fourth-quarter lead. 

    Still, Dallastown found a way. Aided by the sharpshooting of Ava Jamison and some clutch free throws from Alonna Dowell, the Wildcats pushed ahead and held off a talented Suburban squad to win 34-30. 

     It marked the second straight YAIAA tournament title and the fourth in five years. What a run!

     The ladies opened the tourney with a 36-35 win against West York and topped Northeastern 45-42 in the semifinals.
